Short Bio

Specializing in contemporary celebrity portrait paintings, Amano was the official portrait artist of Arnold Schwarzenegger for Terminator 3 and painted Al Pacino, Marlon Brandon, Hugh Jackman, Jet Li, Robert Duvall, and more for private collections around the country. After decades of commercial illustration for magazine covers (DRAGON BALL Z, POKÉMON, and YUGIOH, TERMINATOR 3, etc.), movie posters, comic books and graphic novels, Amano made the leap into fine art. Trained by his muralist mother as well as the Honolulu Academy of Art from age five, Jeff illustrated professionally for many years before graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Northern Arizona University where he studied under celebrated figure illustrator Chris Magadini. Jeff now paints and resides in Redondo Beach with his wife Claire and Maximus their English Bulldog. They have six grown kids spread between California and Texas.
